G'day we are the Hill family. We emigrated to Libby, Montana in 1998 from Tasmania, Australia. Shane (dad), Matthew (17) & Cameron (15), were born in Tasmania. Yvonne (mum) is from Deer Park, Washington.

We lived in Spokane, Washington for 6 months. We were looking for a small town to set up camp in and Libby, Montana seemed to be what we were looking for especially after coming from a small town on the ocean in Tasmania. We purchased the Sandman Motel in December 1998 and immediately began a remodeling program.

You will see why we have over the past 7 years become the BEST MOTEL in LIBBY. We have been voted the Best Motel by Yahoo & Google customers the past three years running.

We have now completed our remodeling at the Sandman Motel.

We have become so popular that we purchased another motel in Libby in March 2007. We have already begun a full remodeling program and beautification of the Motel. We have changed the name to the Sandman Motel Down-Under.

We have introduced ALL the great amenities to the Sandman Motel Down-Under as we have at the Sandman Motel. We are renovating every room fitting each with new Simmons Beauty Rest beds, new furniture and fittings. Each room now has a refrigerator & microwave and some of our rooms offer full kitchenettes.

We have built such a fantastic reputation through our commitment to our customers, from all walks of life, different nationalities, business people, local residents, regular customers & holidayers saying that we have the best rooms they have ever stayed in. Most comments are that they can't believe how inexpensive it is to stay in such a beautiful motel that offers not only impeccably clean rooms, but additional guest services to include complimentary tea & coffee, free high speed internet in all the rooms, fax & copy services. For those who don't have a computer with them we have a free internet & coffee lounge. Our "Motto" or "Insignia" that we advertise and are known by is “Impeccably Clean Accommodations”.

We are not hard to find as both our motel signs have a taste of Australia with jumping kangaroos. So if you're visiting Libby, Montana or just passing through you'll know where the Sandman Motel and the Sandman Motel Down-Under are, just look for the kangaroos!
